Find a special destination for your wedding...and do your planning to make it all work

Destination weddings are becoming ever more popular because they are a fantastic way to make your wedding day even more special.  By securing a magical destination for your wedding you are not only getting a vacation, but you are cementing the occasion in the head of all parties as an amazing memory.  To get the most out of your destination wedding, take note of the following tips.

1. Choose A Destination That Has Meaning

Maybe you and your spouse met while on vacation somewhere, or there is a place that both of you have always wanted to go.  No matter the reason, just make sure there is one in order to make the event even more meaningful.

2. Your Wedding Dress And Brides Maids Dresses Should Match The Climate

Make sure that your wedding dress and your brides maids dresses match the climate of your destination.  If you are having a tropical destination wedding, for example, find your wedding dress and brides maids dresses with light fabrics so you won't be burning up inside of it.  Conversely, if you are traveling to Paris in winter you will want a wedding dress that won't leave the bride shivering.

I wrote another article about transporting your wedding dress for a destination wedding.  Here is a link to that article.

3. Plan With Your Guests In Mind

Talk to your guests before planning the destination wedding to see where and when people are willing to go.  The location should be meaningful to the bride and groom, of course, but it should also be accessible.  What good is a wedding, after all, without family and friends to celebrate it with?

4. Send "Save The Date" Announcements

Send out a “Save the Date” announcement at least six months before your wedding to give everyone time to make arrangements, including securing passports if necessary

5. Budget Carefully

Make a detailed budget to make sure that you and your spouse aren't left in shambles at the end of everything.  Calculate everything into the budget for maximum accuracy, from the wedding gown to the champagne, right down to every flower.

6. Look For Wedding Packages

Look for packages in order to make your destination wedding more affordable.  Even all-inclusive packages are unlikely to provide a wedding dress and limo, but they will cover things like transportation, venue, accommodations, and food.  This sort of help will not only save money in the long run, but also make wedding planning a lot simpler.

Take note of these destination wedding tips and prepare yourself for a wonderful adventure.  Imagine how that wedding dress would look against a Hawaiian sunset and you will see why this is a unique and unforgettable experience.
