When and where was your wedding?

My wedding was on May 4, 2013 and was held at The OAKS in Centreville, Alabama.

How long did it take you to plan the wedding?

I had dreamed of my wedding day since I was a little girl and instantly knew my husband would be the man I would marry the first moment I met him.  The whole time we were together, I started keeping track of the little details I wanted as part of my wedding day…it's never too early to plan your dream wedding! We were engaged for about 14 months, so it pretty much took me that whole time to plan our wedding.

When did you know your wedding dress was "the one"?

I always worried that if I selected a dress, I would end up finding a better one along the way.  Dress shopping was also very hard for me because I really wanted to wear my grandmother's lace gown on my wedding day, but when she moved from New York to Alabama, she unfortunately got rid of the dress.  So my mother and I spent several days searching different bridal stores with the vision of my grandmother's dress in my head.

I am originally from Connecticut but now live in Alabama.  Knowing my wedding was going to be at a plantation home in Alabama, I wanted a dress that was elegant yet sweet and southern.  When my mother and I went into Majesty Bridal in Danbury, Connecticut, this Maggie Sottero dress was actually the first one I tried on there.  With its long dramatic train, I wasn't sure if I'd like it, but then I put it on.

The long train, simple lace details, and beaded waist immediately made me fall in love.  But I didn't say "yes" to the dress right away, nor was I in tears like you see on TV.  As much as I loved the dress, I wanted to be 100% sure I made the right decision.

So we left it at the store that morning to go visit a few other places to try on more dresses. And at every single store, I found SOMETHING wrong with the dresses I tried on.  After countless dresses, I finally turned to my mom and told her we needed to go back to Majesty because the Maggie Sottero Sarchi dress was the one for me!

What is your absolute favorite memory from your wedding day?

My favorite memory from my wedding day was seeing my husband waiting for me at the end of the aisle. As soon as I stepped foot into the doorway and saw him waiting there for me, everything disappeared and it felt like it was just the two of us.  It was pure bliss!

Why did you want to get your wedding dress cleaned and preserved?

I wanted to get my gown cleaned because it is so beautiful that I want to keep it forever.  I have such wonderful memories in that dress.

Also when we do decide to expand our family, I've been praying that we'll have a daughter.   I’d like to take pictures of her in my wedding dress when she is a little girl so that I can give the photos to her on her wedding day.

Why did you choose to get your wedding gown cleaned and preserved by Champion Wedding Gown Specialist?

Champion Wedding Gown Specialist did the alterations on my gown. They did an AMAZING job and did not stop until I was completely satisfied.  Being petite, I ran into many problems with finding a gown that would fit and could be tailored to my small frame.  They worked with such precision that you would have never known that the dress had been altered.  It fit like a glove and was absolutely perfect on my wedding day.

After the wedding, I knew there was no one else I could trust with my gown.  I knew they would provide the attention to detail and expert care my gown deserved and that my dress would be in the best of hands.
